Vision: At XJTLU our approach to Transnational Modern Languages is focused on the languages and cultures of the Chinese-, Japanese- and Spanish-speaking worlds including diasporic communities. We give particular emphasis to a number of key areas: (i) Modern Languages for Business Purposes with immersion courses and strong links to our Business School’s award-winning International Business with a Language programme: (ii) comparative and technology-enhanced pedagogies that position our work in Modern Languages continually at the innovative edges of the discipline for language teaching; (iii) the promotion of intercultural understanding and mobility in the contexts of global career opportunities.
